"Plants need water, man!"

Yay!! More growth with my little garlic plant! How i love to watch it grow ^_____^

Here is day 5:

and day 7:

i'm so excited to see how it grows - i still find it amazing, even though i know how it works. guess it helps my mind think of other things than the stress of work or bills, etc.

went to an event tonight called a business card exchange. several companies get together and mingle/network with each other at a really awesome venue. so tonight, we all met at Mars 2112.

i met an awesome doll designer and her art director and a lovely woman that puts together a nyc up & out newsletter for nyc's lgbt community. we got to talking and struck a common bond. we both worked our asses off to go to school and didn't feel we should suffer after we already worked so hard.

with that said, i'm going to try to do everything i can to try to keep my apartment (it was an issue i've been fighting myself over) while still keeping money aside to live life. in the past, i've been lucky enough to purchase a subscription to the ballet, the ny philharmonic, andreas schiff, and broadway shows. some people don't have a place to live, but i feel fortunate to have the opportunity to experience that. perhaps someday i'll be able to again. but for now, that has to be pushed aside while other responsibilities are taken care of.

i love living in manhattan. some neighborhoods are just as far away from my office building as the outer boroughs (brooklyn, queens, etc). i still have the chance to walk home if i live here. ^_^ just the fact that i have that option is enough.

since my space is limited (i know, i know, no one told me to get the full bed with head and foot board, but when i AM home, i like to be comfortable!!! :P), i decided to move the apartment around a bit. to some, it may seem like a mess, or it may be inconvenient, but it suits me and i've always wanted to put the TV next to the window, even if i have to pass the bed to sit on the couch from the kitchen. hee hee

sure i could have had a loft bed, or bunk beds, that would have made up for some space, but for once i wanted to make myself comfortable. i wanted the chance to get something special for me, just me. even then thoughts of others came into my head... making sure when people come over, they would have a nice place to sleep. ah well... i moved the stuff around and the change is good for me.

oh and on other news! my sister was cast as muzzy from thoroughly modern millie. her school (YAY SCHOOL!) is putting on the production. i'm very excited that she's singing again and can't wait to see the musical!

i've slacked a bit when it comes to bert's (brother) college experience. i'm afraid i've made myself out to be a wah nagger, but he has to work hard, and i want him to know this will be a hard, but rewarding journey. will speak with him later this week.

okay, i'm off to bed now. ^_^
